Polls before the conventions are useless. Like gauging how well an NFL team will do based on pre-season games.

Vanderbilt University did a poll recently in Tennessee that had Romney leading only by one point, 42-41. They polled "residents" 18 years or older--of which 25% were not even registered to vote.

If you know the answer you want in a poll, it looks like there is always a way to get it.
