I don’t give a rats if they think this is the next step in “effective” law enforement!!!
It creats a lazyness I believe will create more problems than it will solve...
Those optical systems also work in conjunction with the targetsing of the “weapons these devices might be carrying in the future...
So where it looks so does the aiming of the weapons systems...
One “glitch”, or human factor error, and you’ll have rubber bullets (hehehe) and tear gass raining down on you...Or some other more lethal projectiles...
I consider that to be a reasonable threat to me, and those arouns me...The laws in the state of Texas allow me to reasonably determine that if a threat is percieved, Ihave the right to address that threat up to and the use of deadly force on that threat...Regardless if is a remotely piloted vehicle or not...
Tear gas and rubber bullets...Yeah, right...It will not stop there...
You can bet that the Liberty raping jackboots will use these in any attempt to institute martial law.
Good morning, America. This is your big brother speaking.
I don't recall "effective law enforcement" being one of the government's duties as listed in the constitution. I do notice that there are a number of constraints on government powers (mostly ignored today) on what government can do. Welcome to the Union of Socialist States of Amerika komrad.
“It will not stop there...”
Why not have armed Robo-wheeled vehicles? Remotely driven from the local police station, on and off road, the LEO operator could fire machine guns and missiles ground-to-ground, and target buildings, other vehicles, pedestrians, -even aircraft!
The LEO’s have gotten real good at “no knock” raids at the
wrong house. Now they can do by remote control?
Mike
While tear gas can be delivered from almost any range, rubber bullets are a 200 yard max ballistic item. So, BS!
These things can be armed with almost anything, especially the larger, military grade models, and once the door is opened to 'delivering payloads', it is almost guaranteed the 'effectiveness' of the payloads will escalate.
Why bother with mere rubber bullets when you can have 'steel rain'? Then go in and mop up.
Why punch tear gas rounds out of the Bradleys (like Waco) when you can just drop incendiaries and get the job done? (--and blame the residents--after all, the Ministry of information dissemination told you they were a cult, citizen!)
