You are exactly correct. On that disgusting web page from the Florida Department of Transport in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there is literally a contest with points, one of the major scoring sections being how many tickets they can write:
Governor Scott should be ashamed. This is ridiculous, over-the-top behavior by the State of Florida. It's no surprise that the Kenyan Clown's goon squad in Washington delight in such bully-boy tactics, but it's a shame that one of the most Republican states in the nation — the governorship has been Republican since 1999, and currently the Republicans have a supermajority in the House and Senate — is willing to play along.
Methinks someone will get his or her wrist slapped — for putting the doggone thing on the web without password security.
INteresting....in fact think of the time it takes to make a “fugitive arrest” and processing verses how many seat beat violations one can conjure up...the result is one is more interested in writing seat belt violations than arrests for a crime.
I have been a big opponent of the dui check point, seat belt stopping campaigns for a long time. It is a violation of your right of free travel. Once they got this crap into the public pysche, along comes the roving bands of DHS road blocks looking for “terrorists” 100% of these guys would not know a terrorist if one bit them in the butt but nonetheless the public goes along with the crap.
This page is pointing to the national contest in an attempt to organize Florida Police Officers, this site just made it public.
No wonder that police officer was smirking in court, he was likely thinking to himself that I was 1 out of 100 and he was going to win the contest.
The Transportation Department even has regional coordinators for this contest. In the North-west the coordinator is in Seattle, emailed him and he won’t even talk to me.
What a shake down.
