In 1980 we adopted a brother and sister ages 10 and 12. What fun we had!!!! We asked them what they wanted and they said they wanted a dog. So we adopted a dog, Bowsie-doggie, named after Bowser of Sha-na-na, right out of the back of the pound truck. He was black and white Schnauzer and poodle with a curly tail. The hair on the top of his head was peppercorn salt and pepper looking. If you stared at Bowsie he would roll his eyes back in his head and look just like Don King the boxing promoter. The kids were such a blessing. It makes me cry for joy just to think of them.

So many wonderful memories. We took Bowsie to the vet and he begged us to adopt a puppy instead of this dog so old the vet couldn't tell how old he was. But the kids wanted Bowsie and he lasted until they were through high school.

Now they are grown with families of their own.
