ATLANTIC CITY — The Pennsylvania woman arrested in a fatal knife attack on two Canadian tourists is being held on $1.5 million bail.
Antoinette Pelzer, 44, made her first appearance Tuesday afternoon in the brutal attack that killed two women ages 44 and 80. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is still trying to reach the next of kin to determine the women's identities and whether they are related to one another.

Well, liberals want to respect the rights of the mentally ill by de-institutionalizing them, and conservatives want to save money by cutting back on services - and let’s face it the money isn’t there.
But there’s far too many crazy people pingponging around out there, when they need to be in an institution or well-supervised, and far too many of them end up committing crimes and going to prison.

An involuntary commitment can only be initiated with a confinement warrant issued by a judge, based upon clear and convincing evidence that the MHP is a clear and present physical danger to him/herself or other persons.
Apparently, this woman, while deemed mentally ill, was not seen as a clear and present danger to herself or others.

What needs to happen, someone needs to be held accountable, since by definition, the mentally ill cannot. Some nice strategic lawsuits might be the way forward, or actually roll back some of the nonsense foisted on civilization in the last several decades. At some level, this is by design, people need to be reminded of that.
