I've heard that old chestnut so often I honestly wonder if those using it really do "hate the sin."
I once asked a relative "You hang so many qualifiers and caveats on the prohibition against homosexuality every time it's mentioned, I seriously wonder how you intend to teach your child there's actually anything wrong with the practice?"
Her answer: "I don't know that I will."
That told me all I needed to know about her sincerity.
I agree totally—the phrase cannot and must not lose its meaning. Of course, we also cannot and must not become haters of those for whom Christ died. Criminals and activists who try to force sin upon us must be resisted.
