Georgetown can get away with poking Catholicism in the eye. Notre Dame can’t. They still have some real Catholic students there, a few good priests, and a lot of alumni who don’t appreciate things like giving a radical abortionist like Obama an honorary Doctor of Law degree—when he hasn’t even done anything to earn it. Not a single scholarly law article, even though he headed the Harvard Law Review and worked as a law professor (read untenured visiting adjunct with annual contracts) in Chicago.
Fr. Jenkins is hoping to get some creds with his angry alumni. I still say, find a new President, someone who is a real Catholic.

.
It has to do with the school’s name — Notre Dame, the golden dome and statue of Our Lady.
Remove those symbols, call the school ‘South Bend University’ and nobody would know it was a Catholic institution of higher learning at one time.

He would fit in well in Harvard Square....maybe he could run the Harvard Coop ?
