If you took a snapshot of him 3 years ago, the pic could have accurately been captioned Judas Jenkins. But you know what? He isn't a snapshot. Like every person who ain't dead yet, he's a live-streaming video.
He's clearly being pushed, either by his pro-life alumni, or the "Catholic wing" of his faculty, or his CSC superiors, or his awakening conscience, or the Holy Spirit. Or all of the above. He's long been prayed for by Fr. Norm Weslin, who is, I have no doubt, still praying for him now, as Fr. Norm is sturdily positioned before the throne of the True and Rightful King.
Anyway, Jenkins is still in motion --- and when he does the right thing, he should be cheered by every man of good will.
Yes, the Judas betrayed us. But Simon Bar-Jonah denied the Lord 3 times --- totally wimped out in the face of a gabby servant girl!! --- and Saul tried to kill every Christian he could get his hands on. That was before Simon learned to live up to his name ("Rock") and Saul became Paul.
A man can change. Let's stop snarking and pray hard.
That post was.....awesome. Thank you!
Did Obama get an honorary law degree from ND?
Folks should certainly pray for the likes of Fr. Jenkins. However, it's putting on blinders to think that he's doing the right things for the right reasons.
Regarding the treatment of the Notre Dame 88, he only relented when it looked like perhaps they'd be able to sue the university and the civil authorities for treating them worse than pro-abort protestors similarly-situated.
As for this latest kerfuffle, I'd chalk it up entirely to outside pressures. This is a fellow who thought bringing on a pro-abort political donor to the Board of Trustees was a fabulous idea. If you can make one of the governors of the university someone who is so pro-abort that she gives many thousands of dollars to the cause of abortion, it seems tedious to complain about being forced to lay out a couple of bucks for contraceptive pills.
He's just doing what he perceives he needs to do to keep his day job. After all, if he loses it, the next assignment his order gives him might not be as posh.

Article (on Freerepublic):
Catholic University Turns Down Obama Appearance Over Timing Issues
The first line of the LifeSiteNews.com article on this says it all:
St. Edward's University, a Catholic institution of higher education that shares its founder [the Holy Cross fathers] with the University of Notre Dame, has rejected a request by President Obama to give a speech at the school.
So Obama's appearance in 2009 at Notre Dame has sparked other Catholic Catholics to be very gun shy of having Obama on campus...
AMEN!
“He’s clearly being pushed,,,,”
Now THATS what i call a strong leader. Instead of playing tiddlywinks with this struggling wuss,, why not put a storng man of conviction in his place?
Love that response.
Bob Dylan is the author of the tagline I use. He also penned a line (obviously inspired by Holy Scipture)
“There ain’t no man righteous, no not one.”
It’s a good thought to keep firmly in mind - for every single human who is walking this earth.
Then there is the story of the Pharisee and the Publican.
I figure that Jenkins only joined in the lawsuits so he could traitorously report back legal strategy to Obama and the abortionists.
If the other litigants are smart they'll completely isolate Jenkins and the Notre Dame team so he can't harm their lawsuits.
