Milwaukee Journal Sentinel endorses Walker in recall race

Same two candidates. Same newspaper. Same outcome. In the 2010 gubernatorial election in Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel endorsed Scott Walker over the mayor of the city the newspaper serves, Tom Barrett. Yesterday, the paper praised and scolded both candidates, but wrote that nothing over the last two years gives the editors any reason to change their minds, and give plenty of criticism to the recall effort that forced the issue again (via Ann Althouse and Instapundit):
Walkers rematch with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was prompted by one issue: Walkers tough stance with the states public-employee unions. Its inconceivable that the recall election would be occurring absent that. And a disagreement over a single policy is simply not enough to justify a vote against the governor.
A Marquette Law School Poll in January showed that many people in the Badger State agree. In that poll, 72% of Republicans, 44% of independents and 17% of Democrats said recalls should be limited to criminal wrongdoing. Republican state Rep. Robin Vos has proposed tightening the recall mechanism; he should continue to push for that after the election, regardless of who wins.
Even if you disagree with Walkers policies, does that justify cutting short his term as governor? And if so, where does such logic lead? To more recall elections? More turmoil?
Its time to end the bickering and get back to the business of the state. Weve had our differences with the governor, but he deserves a chance to complete his term. We recommended him in 2010. We see no reason to change that recommendation. We urge voters to support Walker in the June 5 recall election.

The editorial makes clear that this recall election is a joke, a completely unnecessary and expensive exercise......................All this because Obama and his union thugs want their way.

The one sure way to teach a lesson to the monied interests (mainly Big Labor) who tried to buy a recall election is to make sure that they lose their shirts in the transaction...................So they won't have any money to help Zero

If a nationalized union effort, with paid MSNBC cheerleaders, and Whitehouse coordination can't recall a Satanic Hitler Scab Governor in union friendly Wisconsin, it'll be a long time before the socialist millionaires and billionaires waste money on a project like that again. I mean...the planets were all aligned to the left...what could go wrong?

I so, so hope that this recall election backfires in the face of the DemocRATS and public employee unions. Another Republican landslide there would be the ultimate in poetic justice.

In the Madistan Sunday fishwrap (State Journal) , I was greeted to a complete surprise. “Endless Recalls Hurt Wisconsin “.
In the Opinion page no less. Those mutts want us regular folks to believe its not “Their” fault the state is peeing away millions on these recall elections. We should all just get along until regular elections and deal with the regime.

Ouch! That's gotta sting the libturds & unions, when the largest MSM newspaper in WI endorses Scott Walker(R) over Tom Barrett(D).

Interesting.
Glad to see the unions’ million$ are being blown on such a failed effort. One upside though... those millions$ probably put some folks to work, at least in the short term, in Wisconsin. How sweetly ironic!

If the anti-Walker coalition can't win the election they may sabotage and disrupt the process to get the results ruled invalid. These dirty tricks could include hacking state systems, stealing or destroying ballots, and bomb scares at polling places.
