My younger daughter went through a GED class for some of the same reasons as you did; she did great, and got almost all A’s! She also had a form of homeschooling (most of it online), and she also did great in college testing, ACT and SAT!

To be fair, she didn’t really hate the school, any of her teachers or the students. She just was really independent, and liked studying on her own way, and she got bad migraines at times! That caused her to sleep overtime and be late. Luckily, she had a sympathetic school counselor who also had them. She suggested other options for her, including partially home study and tutoring.
