"I wasn't born in Kenya, honest.

I just pretended to be, to get into Columbia and Harvard."

(That's my story and I'm sticking to it, until I evolve some more.)

More than likely that is probably exactly what happened.

Problem for Zippo, he has been told his entire life that he is the smartest person in the world and white people are stupid.

He believed it, so he thought he could pull a fast one on the stupid white people and get special treatment by lying about where he was born what country he is a citizen of.

When his mother took him to Indonesia, she declared him to be a citizen of Indonesia. Indonesia apparently does not allow dual citizenship, so his US and any other citizenship was renounced.

The way I understand it, US law does not allow a parent to renounce the citizenship of a child, so IIRC at the age of 18 the child must reclaim their US citizenship.

If they do not reclaim their citizenship and declare themselves to be a citizen of another country, THEY as an adult have renounced their US citizenship.

More than likely Zippo referees to himself as a citizen of the WORLD because he is no longer a citizen of any country.

Are those “Official Bios” of 1998 & 2007 also from the publisher/publicist?
