It's time to show the Marxist occupiers, the liberal progressives, the GOPers, the big tent RINOS, the antifreepers, the trolls and weak-kneed anti-conservative naysayers and all who wish to see Free Republic go belly up, that we are here to stay!! And they do aim to shut us down as we are a deep thorn in their side and a serious impediment to the godless, rampaging, big government progressivism that is destroying our Republic and our Liberty!! It's time to push back HARD!!

We are FR. We are grassroots. We're God and Country first, and we VOTE TEA PARTY CONSERVATIVE!! Our God-given Liberty is non-negotiable!! We are legion, and we are in your face!!

I’m sorry to see HT gone. He was one of the good ones. Met him in 2000, holding a sign saying “freerepublic.com” at a Bush rally.

I recognize the very profound differences among FReepers this year with respect to the selections available in November. I have supported candidate after candidate who wasn’t Romney, but each one dropped out or fizzled out.

I would love for a dark-horse conservative to come out of the wings and be the nominee. But if that doesn’t happen, and if the nominee is Romney, I recognize that many FReepers won’t be able to cast a vote for him. I also fully expect (and I think I’m going to be correct on this) that 90% or more of FR will be actively working and hoping for a change of administration. If Romney is the nominee, I fully expect that 90% or more of FReepers will be supporting him.

That said, as much as I love and respect Hot Tabasco, it wasn’t the best idea in the world to come to a fund-raising thread and raise a ruckus. Unless of course he was trying to commit suicide by owner.

I’ll be here fighting the good fight the best I know how. I will miss you, HT, and I’ll always respect you.

I'm sorry to see Hot Tobasco go too. Like I said, and you did too, don't mess with the owner.

Having said that, we have had some large purges here, whether presidential primaries, finances, flame wars, etc., most have not come back. I guess it's just the nature of the beast.

I voted here in FL along with my First lady for Newt, instead of Santorum on Jim Rob's behest. He made a good point, although it was not to be in relation to thwarting Romney in FL.

Let it be known now, the First lady and I will vote for Romney. Methinks it is better to vote for the RINO that you don't know verses the marxist you do know.

To ALL of you reading this, be careful in any response to me. Yes, that is a very specific warning.

I pray for the Republic each and every day. I may have to fight for it again. If I do have to, may God have mercy on our souls.

LL, your post is very well expressed. HT was a very loyal FReeper and most definitely *one of the good guys*. One of the warriors you want in your foxhole. The notion that one is patriotic, and spends time with like-minded people to debate and share principles and interests, are unkindly pilloried for an opinion, I am reminded of George Washington: *Associate with men of good quality, if you esteem your own reputation; for it is better to be alone than in bad company.*
