We have that conversation all the time. We’re both white. We’re both white collar workers. We make about the same amount of money, have the same mortgage, pay roughly the same taxes. He used to sit on his patio watching Chris Matthews on MSNBC with the volume “turned up to 11” just to get a rise out of me and laugh hysterically loud when something negative was said about Republicans.

When I confront him on substantive issues (don’t get him started on Trayvon), he goes off on a rant like I’ve never seen before. I think he needs to be medicated, really. Liberalism truly is a mental disorder.

In all seriousness, this is a very tragic event. It is so sad and painful to lose a son. It is so very sad to have to take a life to save your own.

Having said that, did you tell him Trayvon attacked a blackman and lost the battle? ; )

Zimmerman is black on his mother's side. His great grandfather was black.
