While differences still exist, the party is on the cusp of a generational shift in which the longtime foes of gay rights are replaced by younger party leaders who are more accepting.
They better hope there are a lot of gays out there because they'll lose more conservatives than they can afford.

Unfortunately, the young are being indoctrinated in school and college, NOT TO CARE one way or the other. This leaves the if you are not against us you MUST be for us.
Most kids echo the “if it doesn’t hurt me it doesn’t matter” philosophy. NOTICE the change from ‘if it doesn’t hurt ANYONE it doesn’t matter.
Slick slippery slope. If it worked in Sodom, Satan remembers. People have not changed and the psychology used throughout history will indeed work. Just be patient, a tiny step at a time, quietly, smoothly, innocuously.

Another reason for a conservative to leave the Repub Party who are very similar to liberal/progressives. I call it leaving the plantation.
