In accordance with FR custom:

- Goode was elected as an independent and switched to the Democrat party.

- Major campaign focus was for passage for the Equal Rights Amendment.

- Big supporter of Democrat L. Douglas Wilder, nominated him for Lt. Gov. at Dem convention. Wilder went on to crack down on gun sales as Governor.

- Lost to Democrat U.S. Senator Chuck Robb in Democrat primary.

- Elected to U.S. House as a Democrat, caucused with democrats until 2000, switching to independent, then Republican.

- 2008 lost to Democrat Tom Perriello

- 2010 Filed paperwork with FEC to allow him to raise money for rematch, announced in late July 2009 that he would not run.

I looked up his voting record in his democrat years.

His ACU rating was more conservative than all but four or five republicans. He doubled Zell Miller’s ratings, and Zell was always held up by Hannity and crew as the ideal democrat.

He voted to IMPEACH Clinton....something that didn’t happen with all republicans in the house, and very, very few in the Senate.

As he says, he came up in the Virginia ranks as a conservative Virginia democrat where democrats were conservative. I remember those years. I was a conservative Ohio democrat and my family were conservative N Carolina democrats.

But, his principles remained the same. He voted for conservative issues.

He has a perfect pro-life record. A pro-life, pro-God, pro-Gun, pro-fiscal sanity, pro-small government record.

Now...you tell me that Mitt Romney is a conservative.
