Injured vet’s guns stolen by D.C.
The Washington Times ^ | May 14, 2012 | Emily Miller

After being injured on his second tour of duty in Afghanistan, Lt. Augustine Kim spent the night in a D.C. jail for possessing unregistered guns.

After being pulled over, handcuffed, arrested, thrown in jail overnight, his guns were confiscated by the city.

In the end, the platoon leader felt forced to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge, which was later dismissed, but the District still refuses to return to him $10,000 worth of firearms and parts. The national guardsman will deploy to Kosovo this summer. The city should return his property before he leaves to serve our nation overseas for the third time.

Despite the Heller decision, the District, and D.C. Metro police in particular, persist in arrogant, lawless defiance of the SCOTUS ruling on second amendment rights. This is especially vile because they chose to abuse a wounded, active duty soldier whose sole reason for being in the capitol was to receive treatment at Walter Reed Hospital.

Yes and to add insult to injury this man will have his life disrupted by a tour of duty in Kosovo; that fragrant foreign policy turd left behind by that pair of narcissistic sociopaths Clintigula and Weaselly Clark. What a confluence of liberal sewage that is the heritage of those two vermin and the socialistic thug DC government. Makes you proud to be an American.

If I posted what’s on my mind right now I’d get banned. I guess all I can say is that the 2nd Amendment was designed specifically to address situations where the government and its agents (the police in this case) categorically refuse to honor and abide by the highest law in the land.

In my opinion the government of the city of Washington DC and the Federal attorney who prosecuted this case are criminals.

That said I have zero intention of ever visiting that city and the vermin who run it.

Why don’t these storm troopers just do a door to door raid in the neighborhoods where all of the gun crime is?

Disarm the criminals!
What a concept!

No guts for that, when they can be victimizing our troops!

Anybody want to bet that the real reason the cops haven’t returned the weapons is because they don’t have them anymore? OK, some cop somewhere may have some of them but my guess is they have magically disappeared.

"...the cops asked Mr. Kim if they could search his vehicle. The lieutenant agreed..."

Well, there's your problem, right there!

How can we just throw these soldiers with their equipment out to fend for themselves while getting home ????
If he in carrying Guns and ammo and in required to do so he should be given proper transportation all the way home.
I’m Sure the fat cat Senators and Congress critters are well cared for , when traveling and they don’t do anything close to what the soldiers do for us.
Disraceful, Shame on the police ??????
