You’re right. But for me as a child of the 50s in Chicago, Riverview conjures up only one place.

I know. Yet living in Oak Park until ‘55, I never went there for some reason. Then we moved to Southern WI and still never visited it. Don’t ask me why...

I’m an Oak Parker too, moving there at age 3 in 1954. We had Kiddieland out our way. Did you ever get to Bay Beach up in Green Bay?

We lived at 1142 S Grove Ave in Oak Park. One block N. of Roosevelt Rd, & 1 block W. of Oak Park Ave. Went to Christ Church/School. Moved to Kenosha County WI in ‘55. Been to Green Bay and the peninsula/Door County numerous times, but not Bay Beach. Now we live in Rochelle, IL.

"suburb"

Only to people under 30.

Riverview was the jungle back in the day.

Looks like a short drive up the Interstate now...

UPDATE 10:39PM

An FBI raid at a pricy home in Riverview was tied to a multi-million dollar tax scheme. Dozens of FBI agents, along with the U.S. Marshals, raided the home on Saint Filagree Drive.

By the time the feds combed through the house and seized the property, a grand jury already handed down the charges: federal-grade conspiracy and fraud.

It's all part of an alleged scheme to profit from the U.S. Treasury, and it's all tied to Tampa Bay.

The man who owns the home is Osama Mahmud Mustafa, also known as "Sam Mustafa." He has also owned dozens of businesses in Tampa and San Diego over the years.

Khaldoun Khalil Khawaja, also known as "Tony Khawaja," of Tampa, is also charged.

They're accused of purchasing fraudulent income tax return checks and checks issued for refund anticipation loans. Then they allegedly presented those fraudulent checks at banks in Virginia, Florida and beyond.

These men, along with a third from Virginia, deposited more than $17.5 million as a result of the scheme, according to court papers.

The government wants that money back.

Upon conviction, the indictment calls for all property and profits associated with the crime. It's a high-dollar amount, asking for $26.5 million in U.S. currency. It also demands six vehicles, including two newer model Mercedes and a Porsche.

The indictment also demands assets from four businesses scattered in Tampa, Plant City and Lutz. They mostly deal with auto repairs. One of them, BNA Automotive, was raided Tuesday afternoon.

More than a dozen bank accounts will be seized, as well as eight properties from Florida to Virginia. One home on the list is Mustafa's home in Riverview.

The charges were handed down by the U.S. Attorney's office, but investigation of the case was conducted by the FBI, the Secret Service, the U.S. Marshals, the IRS and others.

The two men were booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
