As sitting Virginia Governor, he will have a huge impact on organization in his state.
With McDonnell on the ticket, Virginia will look like Romney's first Southern state.
He's Pro Life, pro off shore drilling, pro gun, pro charter schools, pro jobs, pro Christian beliefs (has made several statements that could be considered anti gay), Pro traditional marriage.

It remains to be seen how much of an asset McDonnell will be for Romney or Allen. And Allen is by no means a strong conservative. Bob Marshall and Jamie Radtke are far more conservative.
