On the eve of Nebraska’s GOP Senate primary, We Ask America has Deb Fischer surging into the lead. As you can see from the chart below, that is a remarkable 21 point swing over a period of one week. According to the pollster, it sounds like Fischer has benefited from significant financial support from TD Ameritrade founder, Joe Ricketts. However, something else happened in the past week, which is conveniently omitted from their analysis. As I wrote in this post, Sarah Palin endorsed Fischer last Wednesday.
Jon Bruning’s liberal record has been a frequent topic of conversation on Redstate. This post by Erick Erickson lays it out the best. I know Erick supports Stenberg, but if this poll is any indication, it looks like Nebraska conservatives need to unite behind Fischer tomorrow.

Cain joins Sarah Palin and Representative Jeff Fortenberry in formally supporting Fischer over her Republican rivals Jon Bruning and Don Stenberg.“As a state Senator, Deb Fischer has offered bold solutions for tax reform,” Cain said. “I support Deb’s run for the Senate because I know she can take this courage and common sense drive to the federal level.” ……
I voted for her today. Bruning is as corrupt as they come and seems to have used his position as AG to do little more than enrich himself.
I just donated $9.99, so they would know it was to support tax reform :)

But, but I was told, right here on FR, that Sarah Palin was a has-been, that her influence would vanish completely as soon as she got out of the presidential race. What happened? Do we get a retraction from the PDS Caucus? Guess I won’t hold my breath waiting for THAT to happen.

It’s Nebraska... and the Dems are probably going to run the leftist Bob Kerrey.
Not sure if she's been fully vetted, but she's served a couple terms in the state senate without attracting notoriety. She's a rancher, married with three children.
Hers is not particularly a tea party candidacy. Bruning has been badly beaten up (fairly, to a degree), Stenberg doesn't set the world on fire and has gotten dirty from the mud fight (fairly or unfairly), and Fischer is the classic third candidate with no obvious drawbacks benefitting from the tussle at the top.

Sharron Angle gets a bad rap from many. Her race was not like many of the others the tea party won.
It wasn’t a heavily red state like KY where Paul won. It wasn’t like FL where there was a 3 way race and the dem was some lame candidate like Kendrick Meek who no one had ever heard of. It wasn’t like Lee in UT where the GOP could have nominated you and they’d have won going away.
Harry Reid was a 3 term Sr Senator from a pro Obama state in NV. He had control of a statewide machine and had great coordination with the unions. He was the Senate Majority Leader. It’s a lot to ask a state to get rid of a majority leader of the same party of the President. NV knew that as long as Reid was there they’d have the ear of the WH and have their concerns taken care of. If Angle won, the WH would totally ignore NV and they’d become some backwater. Having a Majority Leader from your state gives you a lot of influence and power. It’s not easy to give that all up. Reid is also a mormon in a state that has a large mormon population and don’t discount that. If that’s going to help Romney in NV, why shouldn’t it have helped Reid?
So, I just don’t think that race was as easy as many made it out to be. I mean, would Lowden or whoever else was in that GOP primary have beatn Reid? Probably not.

Hard to say, but Lowden and Tarkanian both had polled better vs. Reid than Angle. Plus -- and like it or not, it matters -- Angle had poor camera presence.
Angle earned the bad rap by her prior runs for office. I warned everyone within earshot she was too damaged, immensely unpopular and polarizing to win a statewide office, and she proved that. Any other credible GOP candidate in the primary would’ve defeated the highly unpopular Reid.
YES! Abandon all hope, you stupid peasants, for a brokered convention, and line up behind your candidate - the gun grabber (who now says he's SEVERELY pro-2nd Amendment), abortion-supporter (who now says he's SEVERELY pro-life), Mitt Willard Romney!
