The short haired blonde homosexual woman on “Glee” seems to present herself as a rather conceited person on that show and off. (I’ll admit I’ve never watched it; so probably know very little and don’t want to know much about it. Just have seen commercials and previews.)
Klinger was not gay, just pretending to get a Section 8. He stopped wearing the dress in the last few years...and the irony is, that in the final episode, he was the one who actually wanted to stay behind in Korea.
Of course today, trying to get a Section 8 that way won’t work.

well.. that’s how they get you... they insert something like cross dressing into a show in a non- threatening way.. so you get used to the idea.

First openly gay character on a primetime show was the Billy Crystal character on Soap.
My guess is that Harris wasn’t gay but was “secure” enough to play around with what he HAD to know was “that image.” He was the first to admit that his seemingly British pronunciation was an affectation (born in poverty in Brooklyn). Who knows?
