Wow1 I just re-read your statement a couple of times. As someone who lost their father in the last year and a half, you are way off base, at least in my life.
I wouldn’t “presume” what a dead person would say.
I don’t think hummingbird was having George Romney thinking or speaking, but he is probably right about Mitt.
Mitt was with his father at the 1964 convention where Goldwater accepted and Reagan made his famous speech, when the liberal Governor George Romney made his formal protest against conservatism and stormed off the convention floor.
The liberal George Romney ran against Reagan and Nixon in 1968 as the anti-war candidate for President (while Mitt was staying out of the draft, and the public eye, in France) and suffered a humiliating national embarrassment as he was laughed out of the race for saying that he was “brainwashed” by the American military leadership while touring Vietnam.
Romney switched registration because of Reagan and did not support him, and from 1989 to 1993 when he reregistered republican his only political donations and fundraising was for democrats, Romney voted for Paul Tsongas, Romney hates the right, and has always wanted revenge against us.
Romney was also one of the few Republicans in 1994 to refuse to sign on to Newt Gingrich’s Contract with America.
* “My hope is that, after this election, it will be the moderates of both parties who will control the Senate, not the Jesse Helmses.”
* Look, I was an independent during the time of Reagan/Bush
Im not trying to return to Reagan/Bush.
* We must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern,
There is a force that has always been an obstacle and an enemy to the Romneys, a family who is used to power and adulation within their own community, the force that Romney hates, is us, conservatives, gun owners, Evangelicals, conservative Catholics, conservative Christians of all stripes, all of the various elements that make up the right, and who have blocked his families ambitions for generations.
