Unfortunately, other Freepers have previously posted that Romney apparently opposed the Boy Scouts’ ban on homosexual scoutmasters. Can someone post links?

I'm not categorically opposed to voting for a politically conservative Mormon. However, it looks as if Mitt Romney is about as much of a conservative Mormon as the Kennedy family were Roman Catholics.

The Roman Catholic Church has been doing a good job distancing itself from its “Catholics in Name Only.” It looks like the LDS has some serious work to do before Romney singlehandedly wrecks the pro-family conservative image which Mormons have worked for generations to create.

I can’t believe that. The LDS are very aggressive about pedos and I simply can’t believe they’d introduce active homosexuals into that role of trust.

On the other hand, if someone is “homosexual”, but has forsaken that sin then that could be the case that they’d be involved in Scouting. I’d be surprised to find them as Scout Masters. If Scouting’s two-deep leadership is followed it really shouldn’t be a problem and being a known homosexual would put you in the spotlight moreso than in someone who’s kept it a secret.
