B*llsh*t! It was nearly 50 years ago. The kids relatives say they never heard about it and he would have told them. He probably doesn’t remember because it didn’t happen. He wouldn’t say it didn’t happen because we don’t remember every little thing we did 50 years ago. Even if it did happen he probably thought it was harmless fun. In today’s hyper-sensitive PC environment libs are trying to make a big deal out of it but at the time it would have been very forgettable, at least for Romney and his buds.
I will tell you that an attack of this violence and enduring result of cutting someone’s hair off, would have been a big deal in 1965. No one could forget doing something of this nature, Romney didn’t forget, he apologized because he evidently was out of control as a group leading bully, and felt that he was nailed by the accusation, a normal person would plainly had been astounded at the idea that they could have done such a thing, and would have angrily dismissed it as absurd and insulting.
I doubt that they will ever uncover an example of Mitt dealing with violence while alone though. We can all see Romney as a bully at the head of his followers asserting himself on the weak, none of us can see him as a guy willing to stand up to a fist fight.
Also, there’s a dumb idea out there that everyone remembers every “bad” thing they’ve ever done. In my experience, people often forget when they have committed an unsensitive or rude act. They are embarrassed about it and suppress it in their brains.
That said, I think this whole story is a bunch of nonsense.
