Interestingly, those with psychopathy require more stimulation for parts of their brain to react. So when they hear emotionally charged words, such as “rape” or “blood”, their brains don’t react the way a normal person’s brain does.

So if we could somehow stimulate the psychopath’s brain so it would behave in a normal fashion, we could get rid of a large portion of violent crimes.

In the general population 1-2% of the population is psychopathic. In those incarcerated or violent crimes, the percentage increases to over 50%.

But not all psychopaths are criminals. Some are in business, like Bernie Madoff.

I remember hearing that, now that you mention it. I guess I could look it up, but what part of the brain is it?

I've always thought that psychos have no empathy or emotional connection to other people. That would seem to be non-functional middle brain. Scary thought: a reptile with a very large cerebral cortex.
