I was thinking of Spam too. I once bought a package of “red hots” just to see how good they were. As near as I could tell they were fat and grease contained in some red fabric.

I imagine hot dogs are right up there too.

In the market today, I saw a package of 'Certified Organic Processed Meat Product Hot Dogs'. It bore the USDA organic icon, and the list of ingredients was pretty identical to a low end brand of generic 'hot dogs'. They were also certified as being 'hormone free.' Oh, and the Organic was about ten points larger than 'processed meat product' and the same size as 'Hot Dogs.' So it read as:Organic
processed meat product
Hot Dogs

Most people know the most frightening words ever heard by a person are: 'I'm from the government and here to help.' Yet they are the same ones who are eager to have that same government define what is safe, and not safe, to eat.
