Tim Larkin, a successful self-defense instructor, has been banned from entering the U.K. because, in the words of MP Rosie Cooper: “He teaches extreme and violent self-defense that is unwelcome [in Britain].”

One of Larkin’s philosophies, according to the Telegraph, is: “violence is rarely the answer, but when it is, it’s the only answer.” His website elaborates:

1—No, I simply wanted to add a bit on.

2-It was a journalist that claimed Lord Ahmed (the man IS an arse anyway), there isnt any proof he actually made the statement, he certainly never made it publicly.

And the film WAS shown, and there was no counterprotest by Ahmed or anyone else.

3—Lord Ahmed is currently suspended from the House of Lords and the Labour Party for his numerous controversies and his motormouth.

I’m mystified. I’ve trained under British self-defence instructors who have taught potentially lethal techniques (mainly centred around blows and chokeholds to the head and neck), and a lot of people I’ve trained with during these times have been coppers who I know wouldn’t have been happy being in the presence of illegality taking place in front of their eyes.
