The Boston Globe immediately leapt to Warren's defense, quoting a genealogist who found a marriage license on which Warren's great-great-uncle scribbled that his mother, Warren's great-great-great grandmother, was a Cherokee.

Why was the Boston Globe so invested in proving this? After all, they're just an unbiased journal, recording the events of the times, right?

And if they were so invested in proving it, why did they do it so half-assedly?

Haven't they figured out that the Internet extends beyond the city limits?
