Conservatism threatens the Republican power structure as much as it threatens the Democrats. That fact is precisely why the Republican party has seen to it that Romney is their standard bearer. He is the most unlikable of all potential candidates by conservatives. The only real hope for Republican RINOs is to reelect Obama. To accomplish this they need a Romney candidacy. Neither the Republican nor the Democrat power structures acknowledge the overwhelming opposition to both their camps. Look for a stealth candidate in a third party run. There are several likely prospects. Among them are Ron Paul and Sarah Palin.
Revolution is in the air. The Marxists and the Do Nothings will not be pleased with the result.

Conservatism threatens the Republican power structure as much as it threatens the Democrats.

There's no way the country can be turned around if conservatives and RINOs remain in the same party, because when push comes to shove, RINOs' whole political identity centers around being able to "work with" Democrats. Given a choice between destroying leftism or destroying the country, many RINOs would rather do the latter than the former.
