Campaigning in the backyard of America's auto industry, Mitt Romney re-ignited the bailout debate by suggesting he deserves "a lot of credit" for the recent successes of the nation's largest car companies.
That claims comes in spite of his stance that Detroit should have been allowed to go bankrupt.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee told a Cleveland television station on Monday that President Barack Obama followed his lead when he ushered auto companies through a managed bankruptcy soon after taking office.

There's also unfounded rumors abound that he's going to announce the most controversial yet promising campaign pledge ever. To help get the economy up and running, he'll offer to marry any woman divorced as a result of poor economic conditions, have her join his "Sisterhood Presidency" to live in the White House while in office.
So begins the MSM in campaigning for “the one!” While the leftists scream about corporations being allowed to donate money to candidates they also pretend that the media isn’t a corporation and isn’t their biggest campaign “contributors” merely by the sheer ignorance they display every time they pretend that their biased “opinion pieces” are actually “news!” Good thing the media is merely preaching to the choir. They can smear to their heart’s content but the fact is that they no longer have exclusive rights to the podium. Thank God for talk radio, Fox News and the internet. If this were the 1960’s, Romney would definitely be toast!
Urkel STOLE the auto industry from the bondholders.
We are so screwed.
While you're at it, Mitt, why don't you take credit for Urkel's takeover of the health care industry.
We're going to need a lot more Senator Mourdocks to protect us from these two clowns.
Really! Bankruptcy court should have managed the bankruptcy.
Anybody but Obama...
Anybody but Obama...
It's not helping...
Maybe I should close my eyes and click my heels together...
Mitt, Mitt, Mitt. Your magic underwear is too tight.
It is a smart strategy by Romney.
First, Romney can say he supported a managed bankruptcy, but not at taxpayer expense.
Second, Romney can say Obama did exactly what Romney did at Bain Capital.....managed bankruptcies and reorganized debt.
Lastly, Romney can show how a bankruptcy reduces the cost structure, paving the way for profits.
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
If nothing else, it will be fun watching the ABO crowd twist themselves in knots trying to justify their support for Romney.
Richard Mourdock and Tom Smith will sure have their work cut out for them regardless of which socialist wins the presidency.

Wait a minute!
You’re not allowed to say anything good about Romney around here!
ABO.
The tea party has it right, get a Conservative Congress, a President that is not a Marxist with a free reign in his second term and hold the RINOs feet to the fire. Afterall, the Nazis have come back in Greece, the Muslim Brotherhood are in the TSA and Putin is waiting until BOs “next election” to take Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe.
Read the post above yours.
Romney is an idiot.
First, he claims he objects to auto “bailouts”.
Then, he supports financial institution bailouts.
Finally, he claims the auto industry, which did get bailouts, was his brainchild, and that their recovery is to his credit.
He is a terribly confused man.
Yes indeed!
There the Left goes again. Saying stupid things they do.
It is never smart to be caught on video tape lying. He thinks we have the memory of a gnat. It does not seem to bother him that he is now known as a liar.
I actually don’t think he’s confused on this. What he called for was a managed bankruptcy with government support that would have allowed the auto industry to get out from under some of their debts and allow them to achieve profitability again. He was arguing against giving them a straight-up bailout, which was what they were asking for at the time. What ultimately happened? They got a bailout, but they got what amounted to a managed bankruptcy in which some of their biggest creditors and bondholders got next to nothing for their investments. Obama went too far, giving up way too much to the unions, but essentially these companies got the benefit of a bankruptcy without court intervention, with the decisions made instead by a politician.
I read it.
Romney can say whatever he wants; I won’t believe a word of it, and I won’t support him.
Love your country more than you hate Romney.
If nothing else to get the Muslim Brotherhood out of the Department of Homeland Security.
Nothing can entice me to support a socialist.
I plan on working overtime to make sure that we get good conservatives like Mourdock and Smith elected. That’s our only chance at reining in whichever socialist wins the presidency.
