On the ground and screaming that he was "sorry," a shirtless Kelly Thomas is shown being hit again and again with fists, a baton and finally the butt of a stun gun by Fullerton police officers in a dramatic video that was shown for the first time Monday in an Orange County courtroom.
The grainy black and white video of Thomas' violent encounter with police outside a bus depot is the centerpiece of the prosecutions' case against two officers accused of escalating a standard police encounter with a homeless man into a fatal beating.
At one point, Thomas a 37-year-old mentally ill homeless man who was a familiar face in the city's downtown screams out: "Dad, they are killing me!"

But I'm sure he made a "threatening gesture" and as long as they followed "departmental guidelines" our heroes won't have to worry about anything.
Nor will they be.
What’s wrong with Niki Haley?
How about a challenger for Lindsay Graham?
But back to the business at hand; the demeanor of the cops who unmercifully an willfully beat Thomas to derh is what the authorties are now looking for in their agents. They wil put their skills to use in the near future in controlling the sheep.
These threads tend to bring them out. And yes, they are.
The before and after picture of his face tells it all. If all those officers had to do that to that one man, they were either trained improperly or complete wusses. NO way that poor man deserved what he got no matter what he did...No freaking way.
Tackle & cuff him, take him away....end of story. Instead these officers will be fighting for their life for a stupid cowardly act.
Anyone who thinks this beating is justified gather 4 of your friends together and try and fight them. They will have you down in seconds and be on top of you faster that you could imagine.
ps/I have friends who are police officers who put their life on the line everyday BUT would never ever beat a defenseless man.
Sick stuff but necessary for people to see. This poor guy looks worse than Uday & Qusay Hussein on the mortuary slab.
What country is this?
And that's the primary issue. Many cops these days are not willing to put their bodies on the line. Their primary concern is to complete the shift without personal injury. Police dept training promotes and encourages this attitude, since they do not want to pay for police on-the-job injuries.
Yes, they could have subdued him by piling on top of him, and risk getting bitten or scratched, and getting their uniforms ripped. They evidently were not willing to do that, and preferred beating and tasing him unconscious.
Some cops might have been willing to risk injury in order to bring this guy in alive. These cops were not willing.
Truly sad, beaten to death by police and he was not even the person they were trying to find. This cops should all be in jail, additionally the whole chain of command should be fired.
This is one of the worst cases of police misconduct I’ve ever seen. I hope they both thugs are found guilty and the judge throws the book at them.
With this kind of action taking place nationwide, it is not hard to understand Scripture when it says that they will persecute and kill you, thinking they are doing the right thing. I can see that there are some police who would never kill or beat an innocent person, but there are some who are thugs and would not consider that the persecution/killing would be religious/political purposes, and not that of breaking any laws. We are devolving as a society. If we do not repent, we will not have a way back.
Like the media, the police release only that which fits their purpose. Anything that shows the police in a bad light disappears very quickly.
Why did it take 50 posts to get to the real-world explanation of the incident?
You are the first poster not to try to explain it in political terms. Well, it’s a primarily political website aftre all.
Yes, there are reactionary right wingers as welll as left. Here is my short youtube of what one such “reverend” on the right tried to do to me...http://youtu.be/pt7xbg3HL7c
O bs...these cops went far beyond that and they know holds that could have easily put him in cuffs.
Remember this guy?
Remember that the LV PD said that there was NO VIDEO, that somehow the 'machine' didn't work, but that they had a 'disk' which they sent off to 'professionals' in Los Angeles to have them 'fix' ?
So... have you seen the 'fixed' video? The 'non-fixed' video? Do you believe they will EVER let the public see it?
I haven't noticed any mention on this thread of what is possibly the major contributing factor to COPS GONE WILD.
STEROID ABUSE.
It is well known in LE circles, and pretty much a requirement in the WWF.
Well, judgment of low lifes and people in trouble is a big problem with cops as it is a really tough job. www.copingstrategiescd.com has the remedy for them and is being used by a lot of troopers effectively!
