Very few people on SSDI should be receiving it. They are taking by force the property of others without consent. Does the SSDI recipient have assets to sell to pay for basic subsistence items? If not, do they have family members who work? Have they looked to family before resorting to government force? If they have no family have they turned to friends for voluntary assistance? If they have no friends, do they have a church family? If they have no church family, do they have neighbors or a local community to look to? If they have friends willing to help, have they sought the help of voluntary charities? Then and only then should they be able to use the force of government to FORCE others to surrender propert. And then, they should have to live with the shame and stigma of extracting from others property to which they are not entitled.

Just for a laugh, one of the Local Sponsors for the Rush Limbaugh Show in Los Angeles is the State of California.

What do you think they are advertising? Public Safety, no.
Water Conservation, no. Jobs Programs, no.

They are advertising “Cal Fresh”. What is Cal Fresh you ask?
Why, it's the brand new made up feel good name for The Food Stamp Program.

The commercials have a little kid helping Daddy cook up a nutritious meal. The kid is so excited when she goes to tell Mommy that dinner is ready, while the announcer goes on and on about the wonderful fruits and vegetables that this poor Family was able to get through Cal Fresh.

You can own a home, own a car and have a savings account, no problem. It isn't even being touted as a temporary hand up. They make it sound like a wonderful lifestyle.

I wonder how many Rush listeners partake in it?

While many here, including myself, would tend to agree with your feelings on the matter, I think you'll have a very hard sell with the majority who have been indoctrinated as to what is right and wrong in current society. When cheating on workman's comp, insurance claims, taxes and many other things are winked at, a government program that was clearly set-up from the get-go to be abused is widely considered Uncle Sugar's way of letting you slide into retirement years before you're eligible for it. It sounds like you were raised in a “pick yourself up by the bootstraps” family and culture and you might as well be speaking Martian as far as most Baby Boomers, Gen Xers and Millenials are concerned. You're in Iowa circa 1925 and they're in modern day France.
