This is an incredible story about how Pres. Obama is trying to "buy" peace in Afghanistan by releasing some truly bad guys.
He's also done it in such a way that not many would know about it, and he refuses to even say if he's the one who decided to do it.
"U.S. officials would not say how many detainees have been released under the program, though they said such cases are relatively rare. The program has existed for several years, but officials would not confirm exactly when it was established."
Lots more in the article.

The United States has for several years been secretly releasing high-level detainees from a military prison in Afghanistan as part of negotiations with insurgent groups, a bold effort to quell violence but one that U.S. officials acknowledge poses substantial risks. I believe that passes for "offering aid and comfort to the enemy."

"They must promise to give up violence and U.S. officials warn them that if they are caught attacking American troops, they will be detained once again. . Everyone agrees they are guilty of what they have done and should remain in detention. Everyone agrees that these are bad guys." When reading this psychotic thinking, I just couldn't help but think, "What would Patton and Reagan think of this?" . . It's as if Obama is inviting the Taliban to attack. .

OK...here is how it is.
We are at war with these s.o.b.'s.
The mission is is to kill as many of these s.o.b.'s as possible.
Is that not clear?

What this is all about is the Obama administration demonstrating they can be a good “go along, get along” kinda outfit ....a real player in coming world government.
They are demonstrating they are “big enough” to trash the “region they rule” for the “bigger picture”. None of these parochial local sentiments.

Even if the released insurgents keep their word about not directly attacking US forces, what job skills do they have? If they instead become instructors for jihadis in Pakistan’s training camps, have we gained anything?

This administration is either extremely naive, unbelievably dumb or calculating and evil.
Of course, none of those are mutually exclusive when talking about Obama.
