I’ve taken 30 thousand job applicants to businesses I own over 20 years. How many have you taken? How many of those 53% college grads unemployed will do menial labor? NONE. And by none, I mean statistically none. There are always exceptions to the rule.
But to mix college grads with the illegal work force jobs is breathtakingly out of touch with business reality. But for now, the score is 30,000 to 0 unless I hear some other evidence.
And BTW, I am staying mum on the issue of deportation other than being in favor of immediately cutting off all government bennies - which would take care of itself through self deportation. That we should do immediately. I am just saying you are ill informed on the reality of the job market.
Lots of them were college graduates who needed a job ~ that was back in 1969.
I did menial jobs myself ~ worked in a UAW organized truck engine plant doing the worst jobs down in the pits you can imagine ~ shoveled grease with metal shavings ~ 25 to 50 pound loads in a bladefull and tossed 'em up in a gondola. Made my biceps bulge!
Then, the drive in theatre ~ we had a guy who drank too much did the propellor collection route though, but I've handled a high pressure steam hose going into a women's toilet ~ just blowing all that filth to the drain hole.
Finally, cooked, froze and breaded all the chicken for the New York World's Fair ~ did all the jobs which included pushing loads into the -30 freezer, and pulling the still broiling chickens out of the oven.
Menial labor? Why did I always get the part of the job where you needed to be able to read?
I think men who want jobs and who are citizens should be able to get them without waiting in line behind foreigners whose bosses dote on them. If you want those workers, go to their own countries and eploy them. Quit messing with American people's heads. Quit telling us it's for our own good, and that it's the Conservative thing to do to bring in foreign labor.
