My problem is not with Portman per se, but with how poor of a VP pick he would be.

It would be the Rove (and probably Romney) conventional inside the beltway thinking that you must pick someone from a swing state. Portman would not “deliver” Ohio necessarily and he would bore the ever living hell out of the rest of the country. It’s the thought process behind a potential Portman pick that irritates me, not the man himself.

Virginia's guy imagined he'd be in the running. I have no doubt Romney is tempted to pick him up ~ that way he can campaign the way the Democrats want him to ~ on the question of pre-abortion sonograms.

Rubio would let him campaign about Blue Hairs losing Medicare (which would be a real yuck yuck).

There are others out there with just the hook 'bama wants.

Actually all the candidates approved by the money guys behind Romney have some serious failings ~ since they all want to argue for Democrat ideas.

You’re probably right.
