When push comes to shove, which hill would you fight to die on. The Social or Fiscal. Your examples are not social issues, they are fiscal issues. Social issues are abortion, gays, etc. Sharing the wealth and welfare are fiscal issues.
To add, those issues go back to FDR, when the whole country had a consensus on the social issues, unlike today.
I would refuse to fight and die for either of those hypothetical candidates.

Candidate A: Redistribute wealth with guaranteed minimum income but opposes legalized child molesting.
Candidate B: Supports decriminalized child molesting but opposes all forms of welfare.
