Carter misses the most important detail in the entire strategy: the Mexican perspective.

Tens of millions of Mexicans ***and their family members in the USA*** are livid about the US Government supplying the cartels with high powered weaponry that has killed thousands of innocents.

Mexicans knew about this more than a year ago and they cannot believe that Americans seem to ignore it.

Most conservatives think of Mexicans as poor and ready to break laws to get over the border. That is not accurate. Mexico has 120 million people. 70 million are indigent similar to our Native Americans; 25 million are middle class and 25 million are upper middle class to rich.

Although Mexico has problems on many levels there is no denying the fact that 30 million or more can travel legally back and forth on visa to the USA because of their social status.

The tens of millions of Mexican legal residents of the USA are nearly always related to the class of Mexicans that are free to travel back and forth.

The anger and shock of Fast and Furious literally comes over the border to affect millions of legal US citizens who are of Mexican descent.

The result is the typical Mexican-American who can legally vote will be tempted to not vote for Obama or to stay home all together.

That said, the democrats are masters of spin and we can bet they are crafting a spin now in response to a contempt action.

What would that spin be?

It won’t be racism, that won’t fly with Mexican-American voters.

Will it be Bush’s fault? Probably yes. This provides cover to Mexican-American voters to vote Obama.

So Issa and the other republicans better make sure the Stupid Party gets smart about what’s coming. They better be ready to counter the ‘Bush’s Fault’ spin. But of course they won’t because they believe the contempt action will succeed on the merits. This is why they are called the Stupid Party.

What should the Stupid Party do?

They should initiate discussion in the media at every chance they get to talk about Bush’s role in Fast & Furious. They need to get out in front of it and bury that angle of attack.

“Bush’s role in Fast & Furious.”

President Bush had no role in FF. Zero/none, it started with Zero in 2009.
