My first shotgun at age 12 back in the day was a Sears J.C. Higgins 410 bolt action with a clip. Later I gave it to my little brother and bought a tube fed Stevens 410. If I remember correctly I paid $35 in 1954.

I now shoot a Remington 870 410 pump. All my friends shoot 16 and 12 gauge. Pheasants are not so full of BB’s with a 410.

Of course they all tease me for shooting a girlie gun. Pheasant under glass at my house is delectable. (no BB’s)

Well. that tears it. I have a long barreled .45-70 that supposedly makes a good shotgun when loaded without a shot cup. I am going to load up some rounds and then go bird hunting.

It functions as a good 48 gauge shotgun from what I am told.
.410 is 64 gauge.
