AT the top of the stretch, I thought Bodemeister absolutely had it. I saw I’ll Have Another closing fast, but didn’t think there was enough track.

A good race. Like most, the last dash everything changed. But, like most, the 90 minutes of programming previous to the race was a horse-dip marathon.

Sounds like it was a good race - sorry I missed it. Always does my heart good to see a long shot come in. It redeems many of the mediocrities among us.

I can’t find the total official results anywhere. I watched the race, but cannot find the results online.

It was, I was watching Fox new about 90 minutes before the race and there was nothing that interested me, so I began clicking the remote until I reached NBC News

Most of the hats were awful this year. Most of those women had no idea how to wear a hat. The best hat was on the woman who sang the Star Spangled Banner. She had it all pulled together, complete with matching red gloves.
That reminded me that it used to be a fashion “law” that you never wore a hat without gloves. If it was too hot to wear gloves, you carried them — but the gloves had to be there. When was the last time you saw that?
I don’t know who fitted Steffy Graf with her hat. Totally the wrong color on her. It made her skin look like mud.
I did catch a glimpse of one of the owner’s, or breeder’s wives sitting there — a brunette — wearing a royal blue dress and a hat with blue and yellow flowers on it. That looked grand.

My wife was watching TV - I tried to find it streaming online but could not.
Will try again next year. I used to watch all the Triple Crown races religiously with my late father. He was, among other things, an equestrian. He had an 18 acre farm in Burtonsville, MD where he kept and bred Morgans. A lot of lore was lost when he died, we preserve what we can.
