Panetta shames the office he holds and our serving troops, airmen and sailors. These are soldiers from 18 to 23 in age and most were privates. They are in a war zone, scared and danger is all around.
To show off around dead enemy is a natural reaction and was a way to acclimate themselves to the reality of war, one must be ready to kill or die. I do not condone the showing off, I say it happens and move on.
Private talks by the sergeant or lieutenant are in order, not a shaming at national command level. Shaming these troops is pulling down the whole force and not acceptable.
Did you see 300? What did they do with the bodies? History is full of examples of far worst things, but guess what they did serve a purpose did it not? Never the less our leadership is the true failure here once again another example.
