Sounds like the campaign had some sensible folks left, and who told this gay-married sodomite that the handwriting was on the wall.

I can’t see Mitt having given him an ultimatum. Mitt just doesn’t DO things like that.

Mitt has a troublesome soft spot for gays. If the “good Mormon” Mitt wants polygamy to get an official nod, he ought to just campaign for THAT and leave gays out of it.

In a statement Tuesday to the Washington Post, Grenell suggested that his sexual orientation had prompted social conservatives to sructinize the Romney campaign. In order to avoid causing a headache for his employer, Grenell said he had decided to step down, despite never having begun in earnest.

“I want to thank Governor Romney for his belief in me and my abilities and his clear message to me that being openly gay was a non-issue for him and his team,” he told the Post.

Someone who is willing to sacrifice their own interests for the good of the team is someone I would rather have kept aboard, unless he was some flaming queen, which, by the article, does not seem to have been the case.

IMHO Unbelievable. He was an aide, a foreign policy aide. What is it with these people to grant such importance to these shit positions; just another prissy dude parading about.

Also, why pass by 10 straight possible foreign aide types and select a drama queen for a nothing job.
