First off, if you and some of the other folks around here would take time to go back and view we "pro-Romney" folks thread postings, you'd see that our progression of choices went something like this: Palin, Cain (or Perry or Bachmann), Newt (or Santorum). Only now, when it appears that Romney has won the primary, have we "pro-Romney" folks decided to act like grown-ups and deal with reality, instead of acting like brats who didn't get their way. As much as I wish Newt had won the primary, HE DIDN'T! Got it?

While many of us wish our reasons for voting for Romney were different, the reality is, Obama is an American-hating Marxist, who has as his goal, to destroy it as founded! Are you going to sit here and really tell us that Romney hates this country, and has as his goal the desire to destroy it as founded? If you believe this, than you are smoking crack! Sorry, but at this moment, Barak Obama is the enemy of this country. where in the Heck have you been the past three years? Tell us, what do you think the country will look like if Obama gets four more years. If he wins a second term, 2016 will not matter! If Obama ends up winning, folks like you will hold some responsibility.

The reality is, Obama and Romney are the two choices. With Obama, we know our doom is sure; with Romney we at least have a fighting chance. Many of us will not sit back and allow this Marxist to simply walk into a second term and complete his destruction.

Gingrich was my choice as well. I thought he was best equipped for the job, intellectually as well as experience. But for various reasons, it didn't happen. So what can we salvage from the election this year? I have to say I am not big on the third-party-to-send-a-message meme. The only message that sends is defeat. The Constitution Party gets, what, a half to one percent of the vote, Libertarians maybe a point and a half? Sure, that'll send a message alright. And that message is: you're irrelevant.

My view is that defeating Obama is a positive outcome. Obama is the poster child of radical liberalism and Fabian socialism. If we beat him we give the b-slap to not only Obama but all the scumbags who hitch their wagon to his star, Pelosi, Reid, Ayers, Van Jones, Elena Kagan, Eric Holder, Bawney Fwank, Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Hollywood suck-ups and all the other media pressitutes and sycophants who carry Obama's water. Obama wins and they win and are empowered and validated. We defeat Obama we gain yardage, because we're that much further removed from financial collapse under the debt burden he is sure to impose in an unfettered second term. It won't matter if we control one or both houses of Congress. Obama has made it clear he doesn't care about the Congress, or the Supreme Court, or anything, for that matter. All he cares about is himself. And that means he will find ways to do what he wants to do. That is the real danger we face in this election. We need to defeat the enemy who we know is at the gates now, and worry about the one who we imagine is over the horizon in another battle. Because if we don't, we won't have the chance to fight the next battle.

1. I don’t think Sarah Palin is a serious candidate so NO I would not write-in Sarah Palin.

2. I know that voting 3rd party would help Obama. I DON’T CARE. The GOP putting up a liberal republican is what helps Obama. We don’t get change in this country by bending over and grabbing the ankles every election. That makes us (conservatives) just as bad as the black population. We’re taken for granted every single election year. Well I’m done with that!

3. And as far as what I said about you pro-Romney folks, all you did with your comment is reinforce my statement that the only defense is “well he doesn’t hate the country like Obama.”

- First of all, Obama probably thinks what he’s doing is right. As much as we hate his policies I am sure he’s not wasting away in the White House because he hates his country.

- Second of all, Mitt Romney’s record has been nothing but destructive. One COULD say that he too hates the country under the same logic you use for Obama!

Call me a “brat” if you like. I’m sure our founding fathers were called all sorts of names by the British loyalists. They had a greater vision, and didn’t bow to status-quo folks like yourself.

OK, let me just say this: despite the fact that we disagree on this issue (a big one I know!) I’m quite certain we both love the country and are sickened by whats happened under this regime.

I am not saying compromise your principles. Keep fighting for them whether the President is Obama or Romney. You can continue to do this. I am just trying to salvage something from this election and that is defeating Obama and slapping down those who suck up to him in the process. That has value, IMO, more so than another humiliating defeat and having to rebuild the Republic after Obama is through with it (if we even have that chance). If we can beat him, I will be very pleased not to have to see his ugly face on the TV every day, nose in the air, shuckin' and jivin' and droppin' them g's in that hectoring tone of voice. It is one vote in one election. That does not define who you are as a person. If it does, you've got other problems.

Note to those with their fingers on the ZOT/Account Delete button: I am not "campaigning" for Romney. I have made it clear that of those offered as candidates this election, Gingrich was my choice. But that didn't happen, and I am adult enough to accept that and try to make something useful of the remaining options, because it is either that or quit and go home. And it really is time, people, to take a grown-up view of reality here, and that is that at this point it appears very likely that the person sitting in the Oval Office with their hands on the levers of power after this election will either be Barack Hussein Obama or Willard Mitt Romney. That is the reality we face, and no amount of whining, complaining, disparaging, zotting, account deleting, and name-calling will change that. The question now is, what will you do with that reality? Sure, you can take your ball and go home and "send a message", which will be nothing more than another devastating defeat, or you can try to make the best of a bad situation and at least defeat the enemy you know is already in the process of ruining you.

Flame me if you want, but that is the situation as I see it. Am I happy about it? Hell, no. I am very aware of the problems Romney has. I am very aware of his record on things like health care and abortion. I don't support those positions. He says he's changed his views on those things. Maybe he has, I don't know, and I'm not sure I trust him. But I just can't stand the thought of another four years of Obama. The country is going bankrupt as it is and that will only be accelerated in a second Obama term, which I believe is his goal. He doesn't care about that. None of the 'Rats do. Defeating Obama is the only chance (note, chance, not assurance) we have to prevent that.

If someone can offer a better alternative, I am all ears. But I don't think a better alternative is having Obama for another four years. I don't see how "sending a message" by voting for a minor party candidate who will end up with a half of a percent of the vote sends any kind of message other than we won't listen to you. I don't see how writing in the name of someone who is not a declared candidate and who won't get more than a few thousands write-ins nationally will send any kind of message other than you're wasting your time. If you think we can get a candidate like Gingrich the nomination this late in the game, after he has said he's out, well, okay, tell me how to make that happen. I'm serious. If you don't accept the reality as it seems to be, give us a practical plan for an alternative that has a realistic chance of succeeding. Because lacking that, its going to come down to either Obama or Romney.

That would be much more constructive and grown-up rather than a childish insult. I'm serious.
