Solution: Make the UK into the 51st US state.

*We speak the same language.
*We share a legal system rooted in common law.
*We share similar cultural values (independence, value of the individual, irreverence for authority, Christian heritage)
*The UK and the US are much closer to each other than the UK is with the continent.
*The UK could privatize all of their titled nobility — making them ceremonial with no legal authority, like “Queen for a Day” or beauty pageant Queens.

I've wondered about the possibility of this too from time to time. But with twice the population of California you would be talking about 6 or 7 states, not just 1.

The UK didn’t give up the Pound and use the Euro because they knew full well what not being in control of the printing presses would mean.

They would never give up the Pound for the Dollar for the same reason.

I'm sorry. As much as I love our cousins in Britain, they've gone much too far down the road to of socialism to make them a part of our union.

i don't think they'd much like it either, as they'd have to dump the queen, gun control, and a lot of other stuff that just wouldn't mesh here.

I figure the UK would make about three or four states, at least: England, Wales, Scotland, maybe Cornwall and possibly couple of other areas that would want separate representation.

But do we really want that many new Democrat voters?
