We had a weak field and conservative opposition to Romney never unified behind a single candidate, neither among the voters or the candidates.
This was predictable early - Thomas Sowell did among others.
Romney could have been beat, but nothing changed, no new candidates, no unifying behind a single notRomney opposition.

Anyone with a brain, and willing to think, knew this was going to be Mitt Romney’s nomination, the day Sarah Palin announced she wasn’t running.
It’s all just been kabuki from there.
