So you're suggesting perhaps Obama went to Bank Street, not Occidental, due to the Ayers' connections...

I don't see any reason to think that. Their going to school a mere few blocks away (Ayers at Bank Street: ?-84 and Obama at Columbia College, on the campus of Columbia University: 81-83), during the same precise time period, leaves them plenty of opportunity to have met and 'mingled'. Anyway, former Marxist John Drew pins Obama down as having attended Occidental: 1980.

During Christmas break, Drew says he was at Grauman-Boss’ home in Palo Alto when Obama came over with Mohammed Hasan Chandoo, his roommate from Pakistan.

“Barack [Obama] and Hasan showed up at the house in a BMW, and then we went to a restaurant together,” Drew says. “We had a nice meal, and then we came back to the house and smoked cigarettes and drank and argued politics.”

For the next several hours, they discussed Marxism.

“He [Obama] was arguing a straightforward Marxist-Leninist class-struggle point of view, which anticipated that there would be a revolution of the working class, led by revolutionaries, who would overthrow the capitalist system and institute a new socialist government that would redistribute the wealth,” says Drew, who says he himself was then a Marxist.

“The idea was basically that wealthy people were exploiting others,” Drew says. “That this was the secret of their wealth, that they weren’t paying others enough for their work, and they were using and taking advantage of other people. He was convinced that a revolution would take place, and it would be a good thing.”

Drew concluded that Obama thought of himself as “part of an intelligent, radical vanguard that was leading the way towards this revolution and towards this new society.” ..."

Referring to Obama’s quote from “Dreams of My Father” that he associated with Marxist professors, Drew says, “What he’s not saying is that he was in 100 percent total agreement with those Marxist professors. When you understand that, Obama’s later associations and policies make more sense, including why he was taken in by Rev. Wright’s ideology.”

Obama’s Red Mentor Praised Red Army

Barack Obama’s childhood mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, a member of the Moscow-controlled Communist Party USA (CPUSA), wrote a poem dedicated to the Soviet Red Army. “Smash on, victory-eating Red Army,” he declared. He also wrote poems attacking traditional Christianity and the work of Christian missionaries.

The “Red Army” poem goes beyond hoping for the communists to beat the Nazis in World War II and hails the Soviet revolution. It says:

"through Frank Marshall Davis, Obama had an admitted relationship with someone who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). The record shows that Obama was in Hawaii from 1971-1979, where, at some point in time, he developed a close relationship, almost like a son, with Davis, listening to his 'poetry' and getting advice on his career path. How this committed Communist became a mentor to Barack Obama remains a mystery, but it is likely that his mother was somehow involved in far left activities in Hawaii and met Davis through her left-wing network on the University of Hawaii campus. Perhaps an enterprising reporter could ask Senator Obama how he met Davis and what sort of influence he may have had on him. Likewise, one can only speculate on the influence his rebellious, left-wing mother had on his political beliefs and aspirations.

I believe Gramps is the FM Davis connection to Barry. IIRC:

1. Per Dreams, FM Davis and Gramps (Stanley Armour Dunham) were drinking buddies and Gramps used to take little Barry to the sleazy bars where they hung out. (Yes, Dreams was likely written by Ayers...). FMD was a notorious Commie and Gramps, who has a huge redacted FBI file would be implicated as at least a big-time fellow traveler.

2. Per BHO Sr. dock departure photo, Gramps and BHO Sr. were on friendly terms (despite alleged impregnation). Photo may have been altered in places, but not BHO Sr. or Gramps, IMO.

3. Per HI newspaper story about BHO Sr. addressing a CPUSA backed union anti-war rally BHO Sr. was wired into FM Davis’ Commie cell in HI, so the link to Barry's dad and FMD is strong.

4. Dunham family history has Madelyn working in Boeing Wichita aircraft plant that was a major KGB target...followed by a move to Seattle area where there are Boeing plants and nuke boomer subs are based...followed by move to HI were FMD was busy gathering intelligence from Naval personal for the KGB and infiltrating the new HI state gov’t.

I don’t know what I mean...I haven’t kept track of all the schools he supposedly attended for which there really is no record, only heresay. It just seems a natural question to consider; if Mr & Mrs Ayers needed to be thanked for the help they gave zero for his education, and Thomas Ayers was on the Board of the Bank Street institution, which his own son was attending, then would it not be natural for Tom Ayers to avail himself of his connection to enter zero as a foreign student in THAT particular school?
And if he did do what would be natural imo, that’s the LAST thing we would hear or read about...it certainly wouldn’t appear in ‘Dreams’ !
