Mitt Romney may be the presumptive GOP nominee
I see this a lot, especially with regards to the GOP.
Shouldn't the correct word be "presumed GOP nominee". It seems to me "presumptive GOP nominee" implies that he is unjustifiably self-presuming the nomination, rather than that everyone else is presuming he will be the nominee.
