For the second time in recent weeks someone in the Obama administration has embarrassed the boss by providing a peek behind the aloof facade on how the Chicago pol really governs.
And now Alfredo Al Armendariz has been banished. Actually, the chief regional administrator threw himself under the bus, presumably fueled by natural gas.
He was in charge of District 6 enforcement encompassing Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana and Arkansas.
He was caught on videotape (Scroll down for the video) addressing a Texas community's residents and likening the EPA's tough enforcement policy toward oil companies to the Romans' approach to subduing distant provinces:
"It is kind of like how the Romans used to conquer villages in the Mediterranean theyd go into a little Turkish town somewhere and theyd find the first five guys they saw, theyd crucify em, and that little town was really easy to manage for the next few years.
All due respect to Rome's lasting expertise in shovel-ready road and aqueduct projects. But some people took offense that a 21st century academic environmental activist, then a senior official in the Obama administration, would publicly admit its enforcement policies on the vital U.S. energy industry were as arbitrary and deadly (to jobs) as those used against potential insurgents back in the time of Emperor Tiberius.

These brutal ideologues at EPA and Dept of Energy are causing real misery and suffering with their bizarre war on carbon energy sources. However they themselves never suffer. This guy will simply return to his tax supported tenured university position.
We live in freedom now, when our voices can shout out some of these criminals from office. Should November go the wrong way, however, IMHO, these criminals become immune to our voices.
Which university?
I believe it’s SMU.
I have to give the guy a little credit; I would say that it is very unusual for a person with his background to have any knowledge of history. I’d guess that his self-destruction was worth about 1/4 a point on election day. That may not sound like much; it’s a long way to November, and it’s going to be fairly close; but these things do add up.
Obama’s team is getting smarter, in that the is getting better at reacting quickly and throwing people under the bus faster. Too bad!
He doesn't know much, since he identified the Turks as the "beneficiaries" of these Roman attentions. Guess he could have been thinking of the Byzantines (who called themselves "Romans"), but I doubt that, the more so because the Turks eventually overwhelmed the Eastern Empire.
Wonder if he's worried at all that we "Turks" might overwhelm HIS empire?
"Wait until Biggus Dickus hears about this!"
Wowdy webels?
