Dale Carnegie wrote in “How to Win Friends and Influence People” that you will NEVER EVER advance your goals if your tactic involves convincing someone else they are wrong.

Even the worst people, obviously guilty of the worst sort of crimes - will go to their graves insisting they were the aggrieved party - that they got a bad break - that people were out to get them - that everything they did was correct - and that you can't judge them - you don't know “the facts”.

Keep that in mind the next time you try to convince another person that they did something wrong.

I occasionally watch “Lockup” on MSNBC at night. This statement fits most of the inmates to a “t”. Prison is the largest single collection of liars, con men and “victims” in the world. The problem is that for most of their lives they’ve gotten away with it, at others’ expense.
