but these events cause me to want to press on that much more and become a complete obstinate agitator to wrest control and power from this class of wanker GOPe

That may make you feel good, but it won't accomplish a thing. People are not going to follow "complete obstinate agitator" behavior.

You want change, you put your happy warrior game face on and haul yourself down to the local Republican party office (start at the precinct level if you haven't done it before), sign up, attend meetings, go to events, bring family and friends, and push that little piece of the political landscape to the right. Move on from there. Sorry, but this is a ground up process. Screaming, yelling, threatening to be disagreeable at the convention, etc, won't do a thing.

If you already are an active party member and have done this stuff, all I can say is encourage others, use social networks to get more people active (that means out from behind the keyboard), etc. The more actual conservatives take part in the process, the less the hug-the-center establishment gets its way. I know people don't like hearing this, but that is how it really works. The rest of this talk about starting new party's, voting 3rd party's, writing in candidates, waiting for the White Knight to swoop in and save us at the convention, etc, is just the same silly bluster and fantasy we hear every 4 years.

Great thought. Doesn't work in the real world. The GOP-E owns the rule book. And if they detect a real conservative that won't play their game, they sideline him with existing rules, or change the rules mid-stream (See Florida).

Nope. Only hope is that the GOP-E dies on the vine after being starved out.

Here are a couple of good links to get started in that direction. The wordpress is over 2 years old, but many of the links are still active, especially the resources category on down the page...

http://theprecinctproject.wordpress.com/

This link is more recent, and has some interesting information and tactics, as well as pdf's..

http://americanmajority.org/

Even then, this needs to be a stealth operation as much as possible... cozying up to the GOP regulars locally, and then making a move when it's time...
