What would happen if say 50,000 - 100,000 people went to the site, clicked on the donate link, and then did nothing but left that window running in the background while you went about your day on other sites?
Could it be like listening to the online radio and reading other web pages at the same time.

You would have to refresh the page occasionally. Most sessions are 10 minutes, but it is up to the host. They can have it less than a minute.
