I don't believe in "hate crimes" or "thought crimes". Sports radio in Detroit is all over this as a "hate crime".
Personally, I think Delmon let his team down. There is no way he should be out at 3am, drunk, the night before a game. And, he conducted himself in such a manner that got him arrested and unavailable for tonight's game. Considering his record of assaulting umpires in the minor leagues, the term "head case" comes to mind. The Tigers do not tolerate head cases. Poor fielding outfielders that are hitting .242 are a dime a dozen. I wouldn't be surprised to see him gone.
If they keep him, he is going to have to do a lot of explaining to the Jewish portion of the fan base, and the rest of us.
